Renault Zoe Electric Failure Danger
Renault Zoe ZE40, 2017 Tesla Model 3LR, 2021 11kWHr LiFePO4 AVASS battery with 5kW inverter 8kWHr LiFePO4 battery running all computers. comms, CCTV 4.7kW AC Enphase solar system 1kW DC solar system 30 evac tube HWS with 300L AEVA and TOCA member I'm just wondering if this ever happened to you again? It's happening to a friend with a Zoe right now. Anyone else had the issue? It almost never seems to be the electric motor!!!

We need to learn all the little things that we have learned about cars with combustion engines for cars with electrical engines (again). For instance the ZOE seems to have a problem with it’s 12V battery, when it is cold outside and you are not using the car for a couple of days.

The customer reported that the following warning message appears in the instrument panel: ‘STOP: Electric failure DANGER’. This warning message would clear itself at any time and did not prevent the vehicle from driving .
However, replacing the 12v has not resolved the issue and it stopped again on a road test and had to be pushed back. The Renault garage are now suggesting 7 to 8 hours of further diagnostic work to identify the issue, which seems a lot as I would expect the car to bring up a fault code to identify the issue.

It has a big warning on the dash saying STOP danger electrical fault (it does explain why they have never fixed the issue though!!). I now have to send it to another Renault dealership and find one that will accept it.

We have had recurring issues with it that the dealer seem reluctant to correct. The vehicle comes up with STOP Electric Failure Danger on the dash and becomes limited to under 20MPH which is just dangerous when on a motorway or Dual carriageway.

Once the voltage goes below 12v as the battery flattens, all sorts of errors appear on the dash . If you’re not using Zoe for a while, you can pre-heat it every few days (provided you’ve got enough charge in the traction battery).
